Football Academy
Helping to develop local youth talent
.

Dorchester Town Football Club are working in partnership with Kingston Maurward College to provide a Football Academy.

It is hoped the venture will attracte players from in and around the local area. Whilst it will benefit the Football Club's Under 18s, there is also the possibility for the youngsters to gain qualifications at the same time.

It is therefore seen as an ideal link that can help to make the most of the local footballing talent.

Young footballers from clubs across Dorset can now improve their football skills while gaining a nationally recognised qualification thanks to the new Football Academy at Kingston Maurward College.

Starting in September 2009, players aged 16 and over will be able to study a full time NVQ in Football Coaching or BTEC in Football Studies at the College near Dorchester.

Head of the new Football Academy David Mellor said "The Football Academy has been developed in consultation with Dorchester Town Youth Football Club and Dorset Football Association and we believe any student enrolling on this full time course will benefit from the opportunity to learn new skills, further their academic qualifications and continue to pursue their football ambitions."

Anyone interested in coming along to the Open Evening or signing up for the course, should contact David Mellor, Kingston Maurward Football Academy on 01305 215125 or david.mellor@kmc.ac.uk for an informal discussion.
