Under-18's off to a winning start

by James Tizzard

Dorchester Town's under 18 side got their South-West Counties League Division Two campaign off to a winning start yesterday with a 1-0 victory against Stroud at the Avenue Stadium.

Manager Trevor Senior handed debuts to four players, and it was one of these, Luke Braund, who scored the decisive goal.

On 25 minutes Toni Musumeci closed down visiting goalkeeper Mike Bowman, and his mis-kicked clearance fell straight into the path of striker Braund who tapped home to give the Magpies all three points.

Dorchester's next match will be next Saturday, 8th September, when they travel to Ferndown to take on Broadway Academy.

Dorchester U18: Coward, Hill, Critchel, Buckler, Read, Jones (sub Thomas), Rice (sub Holden), Kellaway (sub Hopkins), Musumeci, Braund, Clarke. Subs not used: Mitchem, Toogood.
