Derby defeat is 'disappointing'

Dorchester Under-18's general manager Phil Basford labelled his
side's Division Two defeat at their county neighbours "disappointing".
Having struggled to get going in the season-opening win against
Stroud the week before, the young Magpies also seemed lethargic
on Saturday.
Town offered little and only really approached top gear in the
final ten minutes of the game.
By then they trailed by two goals - and although strikers Luke
Braund and Toni Musemeci came close to opening the Town scoring,
Alan Hill headed what proved the consolation.
Basford said: "(Team manager) Trevor Senior left them in no
doubt after the game that we expect better because we were very
disappointed with the overall team performance.
"You can always rely on Sam Buckler. Jack Dale came back from
injury and put in a solid performance. Alan Hill is always steady
and so too Luke Braund and Toni Musemeci but as a team they did
not really click.
"At the end of the day, some of them seem better suited to
Dorset County League Division Four rather than wanting to push on
and try to make a living out of football.
"We are trying to get it over to the lads there is a way into
the first-team squad if they want it badly enough."
