Musumeci nets in one-off game

Western Gazetteby Howard Milton

Dorchester Town ended their Division Two home programme with a 2-0 success against Broadway Academy at the Recreation Ground on Saturday.

The Magpies benefited from goals from Toni Musumeci - back for a one-off game - and Neil Kellaway to move up to fifth in the league table.

General-manager Phil Basford said: "The lads worked really hard. The passing and the communication were good. We have had better form than the first team recently.

"Apart from Toni, the lads we have had in the last four or five weeks have been the core of the team. Alan Hill has had an outstanding season at the back and we were pleased with Neil Kellaway, who got his first goal for the under-18s."

Basford also praised Musumeci who was back in the area on weekend leave from the Royal Navy.

He said: "It was nice to see him again. He was strong and lively up front and benefited from all the strength training they do. He had just come back from playing for the Navy team in Dallas, USA."

Town travel to Stroud on Saturday for their final league game of the season.

The annual Ridgeway Shield match between the Magpies' under-16s and their Weymouth counterparts takes place on 4 May at the Jewson Stadium (2pm).
