Keeper and midfielder leave Magpies
by
Rob Hodder
Dorchester Town Football Club have paid up the contract of goalkeeper
Simon Evans and he has left the club.
The 19-year-old suffered a rupture to the medial ligament in his
knee back in February and is waiting to have an operation which
is likely to keep him out of the game for the majority of 2008.
Evans joined the Magpies at the beginning of last season and in
almost two years with the club made 46 first team appearances.
Also leaving the county town side is 22-year-old midfielder Tareq
Khalil.
The former AFC Bournemouth and Cardiff City player joined the Magpies
on non-contract terms in December 2007 from Southern Premier Division
side Merthyr Tydfil, but has failed to earn a new contract for next
season.
During his time in Dorset Tareq made 11 appearances, scoring one
goal - a memorable effort against Cambridge City in January.
The club would like to thank both players for their efforts.
