Magpies aiming for immediate return
by

Dorchester Town director of football Shaun Brooks is targeting an
immediate return to Blue Square South for his side
The Magpies were relegated to step three of the
non-League pyramid on Saturday after losing 2-0 at Lewes, but Brooks
believes supporters should have a lot to be positive about.
"I think they have every right to vent their frustrations,"
said Brooks. "We have not been good enough over the course
of the season.
"The venture which we (Brooks and owner Eddie Mitchell)
set out on was a little bit different with young players on a full-time
basis and the easiest way to get to the top of this league is throw
more money at it than anybody else.
"We are not a football club that is prepared to do that.
Eddie wants it to run himself and he wants longevity at the club
without going down the route of someone like Weymouth where they
have thrown money at it and then the moneyman walks out.
"I think we have a good side in the making. We need
to add to it and then come back strong next year and look to get
up to this league again in our first season."
The Magpies are expected to go into the British Gas Business
Southern League Premier Division. But they will not find out which
league they will join until the Blue Square annual general meeting
at the end of May. A move to the Ryman League Premier Division has
not been ruled out.
Brooks said: "If the fans can get behind us, I hope
they will recognise what we are trying to do at the club. I do not
think we are far away from having a good side."
