Positive end to a torrid campaign

Shaun Brooks is aiming to "instil a winning mentality" at Dorchester
after they finished a torrid season on a positive note - ending
Bromley's play-off hopes with a 1-0 win at Hayes Lane.
Ivan Forbes netted his first Blue Square South goal of the season midway through the second half to give Brooks' already relegated side only their third away win of the campaign.
The Magpies' director of football said: "It was a good performance and it's nice to go into the summer break on the back of a good three points. Bromley still had an outside chance of reaching the play-offs but we set our stall out and nullified their attack.
"The goal stemmed from a counter attack which Ivan finished off but we created five or six good chances and had lots of possession.
"This has got to be a new beginning for us and we need to try and instil a winning mentality at the club.
"It's been a difficult season right from the politics when I walked in, the position we find ourselves in now and the illness I had.
"But we've picked up a fare few points in our final few games so we need to make sure that next season we are a force to be reckoned with."
Australian teenager Mitchell Nichol-son made his competitive debut almost ten months after joining the club and Brooks was pleased with his display.
He added: "Mitch was excellent. He played off the front players and was a handful all afternoon, it will give him some confidence going into next year when he should be looking to get into the first team more regularly.
"Darren Watts was excellent on Tuesday when he came on against Braintree and he carried that on against Bromley. Some of his passes were fantastic."
The county town boss will sit down with his players today and tomorrow to decide on their futures. However, one player originally expected to be at the club next term has now left. Midfielder Jon Docker's contract has been terminated by mutual consent.
Brooks said: "Jon was a little bit homesick but for a terrifically gifted footballer he's found it difficult this season. I spoke to him and told him to try his luck abroad in a league where the play is slower and less physical, which will suit him more."
