A message from the chairman
Last season is now well behind us and the future in my eyes is looking
to be very exciting and I can only hope you feel the same.
Dorchester Town FC is a huge club with massive potential, which
to date has not been met. My dream for the club remains the same
as it always has and that is for it to thrive and go forward and
upwards. Nothing would give me more pleasure than to give you the
supporters and fans a club you could be proud of and be playing
football at league level.
The doom and gloom of the nation is not one that can be ignored
though and as everyone is aware the country has entered uncertain
times. Both companies and people are tightening there purse strings
and disposable income is harder to come by.
So the reason for this statement is for me to let you know that
as of now I am seeking/inviting potential investors to meet with
me and share the dream I do by investing money into Dorchester Town
FC. I have no intention to sell the club but am seeking serious
investors who like me want to see such an ambitious football club
succeed.
We this year have begun to build an exciting squad of players and
if they continue to grow and play like they can do we will be pushing
to come out of this league and play at a higher level. I do not
want to get the club to that higher league only to come straight
back down like so many other clubs have done in the past. Going
backwards is not an option!!
But you the fans can also help.
The club relies heavily on the support you give the club and with
your help I believe we can do so much more. The gates at home matches
need to improve. We only attract 400-500 people per game but I believe
this should be at least double and this is where you come in. This
is your club and if you can get some friends or family to come to
the games then the more people through the turnstile means the money
we would raise to go towards the club and team.
Also your support at events held at the club can help enormously.
So please come together and do your bit.
I cannot say how long I alone can support the club matter alone
my own businesses but one thing I will do is to try and secure Dorchester
Town FC's future the best I can and to do so I feel this would be
a good start.
As I have said all along the club should be playing at a higher
level so this is one way I am trying to make this happen.
I invite any questions, queries or ideas by emailing Neill Blake
at neill@sevendevs.com so I can see your views and deal with them
the best way possible. I intend to hold a fans' forum again at the
club on September 4th and invite you all to come and discuss anything
in person.
I look forward to seeing you this season at the games and hope
we have a very successful season.
Best regards
Eddie Mitchell
