Magpies still need to strengthen insists Compton

Paul Compton remains eager to bolster the Magpies' squad following
their latest Blue Square South defeat - a 3-1 loss at play-off chasing
Eastleigh on Saturday.
The Dorchester assistant-boss made three new signings during last week but believes little has changed since their 3-0 defeat to St Albans City over a week ago.
Compton handed debuts to Salisbury City loanee Danny Clay, keeper Martin Horsell and striker Tom Clarke but despite taking a second half lead through Jon Docker's deflected effort the visitors found themselves pegged back by Paul Sales before former Magpie Matt Hann gave the Spitfires the advantage.
As the county town outfit went in search of salvaging a point Sales pounced to put the game to bed with nine minutes to play.
Compton said: "Saturday was the same as it has been, no different. We still need new players because we need to strengthen."
And Compton believes his side was hard done by after opening the scoring.
He added: "For an hour I thought we played well and I was pleased with what I saw, but we let them back into it and against an experienced side like Eastleigh that is dangerous.
"However, their equaliser, in this day in age should have been disallowed for a foul on our keeper. The game then became stretched and that was that."
Player-coach Roy O'Brien, at the heart of the defence on Saturday, echoed Compton's opinion and believes lessons are yet to be learnt.
He said: "We started well and I felt we were the stronger side going into half-time, but a few refereeing decisions have cost us really especially for Eastleigh's equaliser.
"I was only two yards away and I could see their player's arm obstruct Martin. We need to learn how to hold on to leads better as a team and we need to learn quick. It's all good us thinking there is 48 points still to play for but we need to start picking up points soon."
The 33-year-old is also keen to see new faces through the Jewson Stadium doors, but not just anyone.
He added: "Hopefully we will get some more new players in, however, we need to bring in the right characters, players who know what situation they are coming in to and players who are ready for the battle.
"I thought Danny did particularly well in the midfield for us on
his debut and that hopefully is something to build on."
