Compton in desperate search for keeper

Dorchester are desperately seeking the signature of a new goalkeeper
after fears that Simon Evans may lose his fitness battle ahead of
tomorrow's trip to Cambridge City (3pm).
The Magpies' number one returned from injury for Tuesday's home clash with Bishop's Stortford but after aggravating a knee problem in the warm-up, and with no replacement keeper on the bench following Martin Horsell's release, Evans was forced to carry on and Dorchester slumped to a 4-0 defeat.
Assistant-manager Paul Compton said: "Simon declared himself fit beforehand so we decided to let Martin go, however, in the warm-up on Tuesday Simon suffered a recurrence of his knee injury.
"Therefore we are trying to get a new keeper in, someone who we can keep for the rest of the season."
Meanwhile, Compton has urged the county town players to forget about past results and focus on getting the much needed three points at Milton Road tomorrow.
The Magpies are rock bottom of the Blue Square South form table following five straight defeats, however, their last league victory came in a 3-2 success over City last month.
And Compton is calling for a repeat performance from his side.
He said: "We are looking for the same character shown in that game because we need to get a win under our belt, but to do that we need to stop conceding so many goals.
"Every game is a pressure game whether it be home or away. We have Sutton United at home in a week's time but there's no use pin pointing games.
"At the end of the day every match is crucial and we need to approach this one in the strongest way possible and to do that we need to forget about past results and look to the future."
The Magpies, who lie six points behind Welling United and safety, will definitely be without striker Elliot Bent and defender Gary Bowles who are injured and suspended respectively.
