Magpies make move for Manangu

by Rob Hodder

Dorchester Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of the former Rushden & Diamonds striker Eric Manangu.

The 22-year-old started his career at Chelsea before coming through the ranks at Rushden. He was a regular performer in their League Two under-19 and reserve sides and made his debut for the first team in a 4-0 home win against Colchester when just 18 years old.

Whilst with Rushden, Manangu enjoyed a spell on loan at then Southern Premier League side Stamford before joining Ryman League Enfield when his contract had expired.

This season he has been playing for Spartan South Midlands Premier Division side Brimsdown Rovers where he has been finding the net on a regular basis.

Manangu, who has been training with the Magpies this week, has been described as a strong and powerful striker who can hold the ball up well and bring others into the game.
