Brooks secures sixth summer signing

by Rob Hodder

Dorchester Town are delighted to announce the signing of former Macclesfield Town player Ronayne Benjamin Marsh-Brown on a one-year contract.

The 23-year-old versatile left-sided player, who has also played for Dutch First Division side RKC Waalwijk, put pen to paper on his deal tonight before the Magpies first training session of the new season.

Ronayne, who is comfortable anywhere on the left hand side of the pitch, also has considerable experience of the English non-League scene having had spells at Conference National side Crawley, as well as Blue Square South sides Welling, Fisher and Maidenhead.

After completing his sixth pre-season signing Magpies manager Shaun Brooks said, "I am pleased to have finally got Ronayne secured on a contract.

"He trained with us towards the end of last season after the window had closed and impressed me with his attitude. He is a decent player who can play in a number of positions and will add more quality and competition for places into the squad."

Also joining the Magpies ranks as First Team Coach is the former Southampton coach John Donoghue. He joins the management team on a part-time basis and will be taking the midweek training sessions along with manager Brooks and his new assistant Alex Browne.

Speaking this evening before the first session he said, "I am really looking forward to working with the squad that Shaun has put together this season.

"I helped out for six weeks or so last season during Shaun's illness and the squad had a lot of very talented youngsters in it which he has now backed up with some quality experienced players who will help us to progress.

"When Shaun asked me to get involved on a more permanent basis I was delighted as this is a great club and one that is capable of pushing on further up the non-League pyramid."
