Mudge signs for the Magpies
by Rob Hodder
Dorchester Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing
of the former Exeter City striker Jamie Mudge on a one-year contract.
The 25-year-old, who has been a long time target
of manager Shaun Brooks, agreed terms over the weekend and has today
signed his new contract.
Mudge spent most of last season training full-time
with Exeter City and playing for their Pontins League reserve side,
whilst playing weekend games for Western Premier League side Dawlish
where he scored a very impressive 31 goals from 33 league games.
Speaking earlier today after signing for his
new team, Mudge said "I am delighted to now be a Dorchester
Town player.
"After speaking to Shaun Brooks
and hearing his plans for the season, I knew this was a club that
I wanted to be a part of.
"The squad that's being assembled
is a very good one and I hope I can add that extra edge in front
of goal this season."
Mudge, who is well known for his pace
and finishing ability, will be no stranger to Dorchester fans having
had an excellent five years at Tiverton Town, in which time he scored
well over 100 goals - 33 of which came in their 04/05 Southern Premier
League campaign.
Dorchester's
new assistant manager Alex Browne
was excited about the new arrival. He said:
"Mudgey is still young but
is an experienced
and proven goalscorer at this level
of football.
"Along with Ryan Moss he will make up an
exciting and quality front line."
