Eastham keen to stay on

Dorset Echoby Ky Capel

Loan signing Nick Eastham has revealed that he would be more than happy to extend his stay at Dorchester Town.

The Salisbury City striker, who is on a month's loan at the Jewson Stadium, made his debut for the Magpies in last Saturday's 1-1 draw at Fisher Athletic and is training with the county town outfit on a full-time basis.

The 19-year-old said: "Yes I would definitely like to stay longer. I'm really enjoying my time here at the moment. I'm training full-time so I'm always down here with the other players when they are and that makes it easier to find out how each person plays."

And Eastham is relishing the opportunity of first-team football. He added: "I really enjoyed my debut at Fisher, it took a few minutes for me to settle into the game though. This is the highest level I've played at to be honest because at Salisbury I've only ever made the bench but not come on so it was great to be out there.

"I'm hoping to get a few goals while I'm here, as well as gaining some experience. The big thing I've noticed is how competitive this level is and the sheer pace of the game."

The teenager, who linked has up with fellow Salisbury loanee Danny Clay at Dorchester, is expected to keep his place alongside top scorer Jones Awuah when the Magpies visit Bognor Regis Town today (3pm).
