Double bill at the Jewson Stadium

A double bill of youth football takes place this Sunday at the Jewson Stadium when Dorchester Town's Under 16 and 18 teams take on their counterparts from Weymouth.

First up are the Under 16 teams, who are playing for the Ridgeway Shield. This annual trophy is played for each year by Dorchester and Weymouth Under 16 teams - last year's winners were Weymouth and the Magpies will be looking to win the Shield back on Sunday.

The game kicks off at 1.00pm. Weymouth under 16s have already beaten the Magpies twice this season in the Dorset Youth League, going on to win the Under 16 Division One title, with Dorchester finishing as runners-up.

The second of Sunday afternoon matches see Phil Basford and Trevor Senior's under 18 Magpies take on their counterparts from Weymouth, in an end of season friendly. The game will be Trevor Senior's last match as manager.

This is the first time the two teams have played each other this season as the Terras play in Dorset Under 18 League Division One and the Magpies in the South West Counties league Division Two.

We are looking for a good turn out for both matches with what should be two very competitive games.
