Young Magpies win in League Cup

Phil Basford's under-18 side started their campaign for the South West Counties League Cup with a 3-1 victory over Poole Town on Saturday.

Trailing 1-0 at half-time at the Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground, the Magpies struck back in the second half with two goals from substitute Lewis Trevett.

A well-taken penalty by Jamie Hopkins completed the scoring, leaving the Magpies in fifth place in Group B, having played a game less than all-but-one of their opponents.

Magpies: Filkins, Bernard, Critchel, Jones, Hopkins, Amey (Fry 75), Turk, Taylor, Carter (Trevett 50), Chance, Lake (Flood 55). Sub not used: C. Kellaway.
