Magpies Matchday Madness
by
Rob Hodder
Dorchester Town Football Club have announced that their Blue Square
South fixture against Bognor Regis Town, scheduled to take
place on Saturday 8th November (kick off 3pm), will be a free
to view event for all supporters.
The match will see the return of the former Magpies manager Mick
Jenkins to the Jewson Stadium for the first time as Bognor
boss and it's hoped that the goodwill gesture from chairman Eddie
Mitchell will encourage as many fans to travel from Bognor as possible
to support their side, hopefully along with an increased home crowd
to get behind the Magpies.
Speaking earlier today about the county town sides' latest
initiative director Neill Blake said: "It's no secret that we, like
most clubs at this level, are keen to increase our attendances on
a regular basis.
"We are hoping to reach out to the local community in many ways and letting everyone in for free for the Bognor game is a great way to start.
"It would be fantastic if all of our regular supporters came to the game with plenty of friends to support our boys and create a great atmosphere."
Speaking on the important role the crowd can play at home games,
Magpies boss Shaun Brooks added: "The players all appreciate the
support our fans show from the terraces to them.
"They are a good bunch who are clearly all very passionate about their team and when they get going it really is like having an extra man on the field."
