Young Magpies lose on the road

by Devin Ward

A frustrating morning in Taunton is the best way to describe Dorchester Town under 18's first away match in the South-West Counties Youth League.

Craig Kellaway capped a good first half team performance when he scored from 25 yards giving college keeper Josh Lines no chance on 38 minutes putting the Magpies back on level terms.

That was after Johnny Bithel open the scoring for Huish, when he found himself unmarked at the far post following across into the Magpies area, on 18 minutes with a easy tap in past Magpies' keeper Sam Filkins.

Neil Kellaway was unlucky not to follow his brother onto the score sheet and put the Magpies, 2-1 up just after half time. It was Huish who did take the lead on 75 minutes however, with an almost identical strike from Johnny Bithel, who again found himself unmarked for his second tap in of the morning.

Dorchester who played so well in the first half then lost all shape and forgot that their is no 'I' in team. Heads dropped and passes went adrift and to cap it all Richard Huish got a third goal from substitute Curey Lewis on 85 minutes.

It was disappointing for the Magpies as all their hard work was undone by a poor second half performance.

The players would like to thank Adrian Chance who paid for and drove their mini bus to Taunton.
