Mitchell eyes cup success
by

Dorchester Town chairman Eddie Mitchell says the Magpies will be
going "flat out" for victory today in their FA Cup second
qualifying round tie with New-port County at the Jewson Stadium
(3pm).
The Magpies are in desperate need of a lift following a run of
10 games without a win. And Mitchell is hopeful they can stop the
rot today.
He said: "Previous games between the two sides have been high
scoring ones. Hopefully we'll be able to score as many again ourselves,
but this time we'll hopefully tighten up at the back.
"It'll be a good one to win and we'll be going flat out for
it that's for sure."
The winner of today's cup clash will receive £4,500 in prize
money, which would be very welcome to the county town club at a
time when Mitchell is seeking out potential investors to help ease
the pressure on his own pockets.
As of yet though, the search for financial aid continues.
Property developer Mitchell added: "It's difficult because
times are hard for everyone right now. We're soldiering on though
and trying our best.
"We've been talking to people about investing and we still
are but people are cautious at the moment so it's hard to prize
funds from them.
"I just want to help make the club self-supporting."
Dorchester go into today's game with the added bonus of having
Wes Fogden in their line-up following his release from Brighton.
And Mitchell is delighted to have gained the services of the 20-year-old
on a more permanent basis.
He said: "It's a very good move for the club. He's by far
the most outstanding player we've had since I've been at the club
and probably one of the best players the club has had in a long
time."
