Taylor positive despire defeat
by
Ky Capel
Dorchester Town Under-18s’ boss Robbie Taylor felt there were “lots
of positives” despite seeing his side go down to a 3-2 defeat
at the hands of New College Academy.
The Magpies, who went behind after just a minute’s play
at the Rec, drew level in the 10th minute through Luke Turk only
to fall behind once again.
Neil Kellaway restored parity on the half-hour and that is how
it stayed going into half-time.
The hosts missed several chances to go in front and they were
made to pay for their profligacy as New College scored what proved
to be the winning goal.
The defeat completed a somewhat miserable November for the county
town side, who lie eighth in the South West Counties League, but
Taylor remains upbeat.
He said: “The lads haven’t played badly all season,
perhaps the one thing lacking at the moment is focus and concentration.
“There were lots of positives to come out of the game, we’ve
just got to try and get the lads concentrating for the whole 90
minutes.
“We’ll keep going and move on to the next game. The
whole point of the league is to get the best out of the boys.”
Dorchester will look to bounce back from the defeat when they
take on Newport County in another home clash on Saturday (10.30am).
Former Exile Taylor added: “Newport is an old club of mine
so I’ll enjoy it.”
Dorchester: Suttle, Lloyd, Spencer, Fellows, Dear, Flood (Austin
55), Webb, Taylor, Kellaway, Turk, Kendrick (Jones 60). Subs not
