Striker deal hits the buffers

Dorset Echoby Adam Summers

The Magpies’ hopes of landing a Blue Square Bet Premier forward on loan have hit the buffers.

Dorchester Town boss Ashley Vickers was hoping to bolster his strike-force ahead of this afternoon’s clash against Havant & Waterlooville at the Avenue Stadium but the deal has failed to materialise.

Vickers told Echosport: “It has fallen through at the moment but we will wait and see what comes out of it over the weekend.

“We have got other irons in the fire as well and hopefully something will happen soon.

“We haven’t been taking our chances in games and it is an area we need to address pretty quickly.”

Town have lost their opening four games in Blue Square Bet South and sit three points adrift of safety at the foot of the table.
