Magpies out to clip the Wings

Dorchester Town travel to in-form Welling United tomorrow (3pm) aiming to “get the cart back on the road”.
The Magpies’ five-match unbeaten run was brought to a halt on Monday night following a narrow defeat at play-off hopefuls Chelms-ford City.
And although caretaker-boss Ashley Vickers praised his players’ efforts at Melbourne Park, the 37-year-old is eager to start collecting points once again.
He said: “We were unlucky on Monday and on another day we may have got something. I spoke to the chairman Shaun Hearn on Wednes-day and reiterated that we don’t have anything to fear from anyone in this league.
“Newport are already a Blue Square Premier side so apart from them we can hold our own against anyone.
“We’ll look to take all the good things that were there on Monday night, and in the five games before that, into tomorrow’s game.
“The lads are full of confidence and are all producing the necessary qualities we expect. The standard has been set but the hardest thing is making sure you continue to do it on a regular basis.
“We have had a blip in Monday’s result so we need to get the cart back on the road.
“It will be a tough game tomorrow as Welling are unbeaten in six matches. If we can keep tight at the back it sets a good platform.
“Welling are quite talented in the middle of the park but we will try and put our own quality into the game.”
Ryan Moss (flu) has missed the Magpies’ last two outings while skipper Kevin Hill (flu) and winger Nick Crittenden (ankle) sat out Monday’s loss in Essex.
Asked whether the trio could return for tomorrow’s trip, Vickers replied: “Mossy should be okay and we are hopeful that Hilly and Critts will be involved. The players that have come in have done well though and that makes life difficult for me, but it’s a nice situation to be in.”
Warren Byerley, who has scored three in three for Bridport, could be recalled for tomorrow’s clash.
