Dorchester offer Moss new deal

Dorset Echoby Ky Capel

Striker Ryan Moss is the latest Dorchester Town player to be offered a new contract at the club.

The 23-year-old forward has missed the last three games through illness but is expected to return to the Magpies’ fold at home to Bishop’s Stortford today (3pm).

James Coutts and boss Ashley Vickers are among those already mulling over new playing deals, and the latter hopes Moss will put pen to paper on his offer.

Vickers said: “I’d love to keep all of the lads if possible but we have to cut our cloth accordingly, as do all the teams at this level.

“The club needs to live within it means. By no stretch of the imagination are our players highly paid for this league and they are having to take a cut for the second year running.

“But if they do well and win games, as well as appearance- related money, then our lads will do well out of it.”

Vickers also revealed that Simon Evans and Regan Coward have not been able to train properly since Christmas because of niggling injuries, but Coward will be fit enough to take his place between the posts at the Jewson Stadium this afternoon.
