Llewellyn set to face Spitfires
by
Ky Capel
Josh Llewellyn could return to the Dorchester frontline for tonight’s
trip to Eastleigh (7.45pm).
The pacy striker scored on his county town debut just over a fortnight
ago but saw his evening cut short in only the 25th minute after
picking up a hamstring injury.
Having missed the Magpies’ two previous outings, the 22-year-old
is now back in the fold.
And his return is a timely one as leading scorer Matt Groves begins
a three-match ban following his red card against Hampton & Richmond – the
same night Llewellyn made his Dorchester bow.
Manager Ashley Vickers said: “Matt’s suspended so
it’s ideal to get Josh back involved, whether it is on the
bench or not remains to be seen.
“Josh and Ryan Moss looked good in the short time they played
together at Hampton and Josh gives us that extra bit of pace.
“Josh trained on Tuesday and came through really well – fingers
crossed he will be firing tonight.”
Eastleigh’s push for promotion has faltered of late following
a run of four games without a win.
However, former Spitfire Vickers is not expecting an easy ride.
He added: “They are a bit up and down at the moment but on
their day they’re an excellent side with good players throughout
the team.
“I know their threats, having been at the club before, and
I will pass that on to the lads and make sure we are ready.
“We also know the areas we think we can exploit and there’s
no reason why we can’t carry a real threat.
“It’s another test for us but the lads are keen to
go out there and show their ability.”
Midfielder James Coutts is expected to sign a new two-year deal
either this weekend or early next week.
