Josh sets his sights on the Romans

Josh Llewellyn is gunning for Bath City after seeing his Dorchester
comeback delayed on Friday night.
The 22-year-old was expected to make his return at Eastleigh following
almost three weeks out, nursing a hamstring injury he picked up
on his Magpies debut.
However, heavy rain in Hampshire put paid to those hopes and the
pacy striker now has his sights set on Good Friday’s trip
to former rivals Bath City.
Of last Friday’s postponement, the ex-Team Bath frontman
said: “There was a pitch inspection at 2pm and a local referee
said it was fine to play. But when we got there and saw the pitch
there was one really terrible patch and I didn’t think it
could be played.
“Your ankle sunk into the ground so it wouldn’t have
been the brightest idea to play.
“It was disappointing as I wanted to play and so did the
other lads coming off the 4-2 win against Weston – we wanted
to carry on the momentum.
“It’s been a bit stop-start for me since joining and
it’s been frustrating but hopefully I’ll be able to
play this Friday now.
“My hamstring feels okay so a couple more training sessions
will ensure it’s definitely alright.
“There was a bit of rivalry with Bath when I was at Team
Bath and I don’t think I’ve ever beaten Bath in my
career so that’ll give me extra incentive on Friday.
“They are doing well this season and they are up there because
they have a good team. It’s going to be tough but we’ll
go there in a positive frame of mind.”
Llewellyn scored 14 minutes into his Dorchester debut but had
to leave the field just 11 minutes later after pulling up with
a hamstring problem.
Now fully recovered, the former Weymouth man is keen to get amongst
the goals once again in a bid to earn a spot in next season’s
squad.
He added: “Everyone seems to be getting their contracts
for next season. I hope I can prove myself in the remaining games
and have a offer on the table.
“This season has been very much up and down and there hasn’t
been much security. I was at Team Bath for three really good seasons
and everyone knew where they stood.
“It’s nice to see that’s the case at Dorchester.
People know Ashley Vickers is going to be here as manager next
season and he can therefore do the best job possible.”
Having spent five months at the Wessex Stadium, Llewellyn is hopeful
of a brighter future for his former employers, who cut their debt
by 91 per cent on Friday after entering into a Company Voluntary
Arrangement.
He said: “I wish them all the best as the fans are brilliant.
Hopefully this means they can move on in a positive way.”
The postponed clash with Eastleigh has been rearranged for Wednesday,
April 21 (7.45pm).
