Dorchester Town Football Club are delighted to confirm the double signing of defender Liam McFarlane and striker Ilya Ihnatenko on dual-registration from Eastleigh.
The highly-rated duo join from the National League side, where they are part of the Elite Development Squad, and both players arrive at The Avenue fresh from spending pre-season with the Spitfires senior squad, featuring in a number of their first team friendlies.
Central defender McFarlane has senior squad experience in non-league with Brockenhurst, Bashley and Totton & Eling over recent seasons, and made his first team debut for Eastleigh, alongside Ilya, in their pre-season friendly against Horsham last month.
Having finished as the top goalscorer in the U19 National League Alliance Division E during the previous campaign with 23 goals, striker Ihnatenko also has first team experience with Downton and Bemerton Heath Harlequins, where he also finished as their top goalscorer last season.
Both players have trained with Glenn Howes’ squad over the past week, and could make their Magpies debut in our opening game of the season away at Weymouth tomorrow.
