Dorchester Town Football Club are delighted to announce that Luke Holmes has agreed to return to the club ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Eleven years on from making his debut for the club in 2015 as a teenager, the attacking midfielder – and son of Magpies legend Matty Holmes – is back at The Avenue for a second spell, to become manager Glenn Howes' fourth new summer signing.
After first featuring during the 2015/16 season under then-Magpies boss Mark Jermyn, the AFC Bournemouth academy graduate has since gained more than a decade of experience across clubs including Wimborne Town, Poole Town and, most recently, Bashley.
On re-signing for the club, Holmes said: “I've always had a soft spot for this club. To have the opportunity to come back and play for the badge is a great honour, and hopefully we can achieve something great this season!
“I've got a lot of friends at Bashley and it's a great club, but the chance to come back to this club, play for someone like Glenn, and link up with some old teammates is definitely going to be exciting - I feel I've got unfinished business here."
Speaking on his memories of his first spell with the club, Holmes added: “I was very young at the time at 17/18, so I was still learning my trade, but I played around some really experienced, good players, and the pitch was still grass at the time! I really enjoyed it under Jem."
On playing again in front of the Avenue faithful, Holmes added: “I’m looking forward to hopefully entertaining the fans and giving 110% for the badge every week. I know what a great fanbase this is, and hopefully we can achieve something big this season!”
Welcome back Luke!
