Match Preview - Uxbridge (H)

January 9, 2026

By James Gray

Dorchester Town are back in action for the first time in 2026 this Saturday (3pm KO), as Uxbridge make the lengthy trip from Greater London to the Avenue Stadium.

Magpies boss Tom Killick will, following last weekend's postponement at Farnham Town, be keen to see his side start the new year in strong fashion, as they seek to pull clear of the relegation zone.

Uxbridge, meanwhile, will be looking to arrest a worrying spell of form that has seen them fail to win any of their last nine matches in the Southern League Premier South, and, for the time being, fall away from the play-offs conversation.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of the visit of Uxbridge.

Ones To Watch

Nnamdi Nwachuku and Frank Keita are tied as Uxbridge's top scoring players in the Southern League Premier South this season - with both players currently sat on seven goals - and are expected to be key attacking outlets for Dorchester's defence to pay close attention to.

At the other end of the pitch defender and club captain CJ Fearn - who previously spent a decade at Farnborough - is likely to be a formidable presence for Dorchester's attacking players to overcome, if they are to get anything out of the contest.

The Gaffer

Danny Edwards has managed Uxbridge since 2019, overseeing the club's historic promotion to Step Three last season. Edwards had previously managed Chalfont St Peter for 15 seasons, winning promotion to Step Four and achieving a memorable run to the semi-finals of the FA Vase.

Previous Meeting

Dorchester travelled to Uxbridge on the opening day of this season, playing out a fairly unspectacular 0-0 draw at Honeycroft.

Tom Killick's side entered the match without no fewer than six first team regulars and, in hot, sunny conditions, both teams struggled to create any real chances of note throughout.

The draw kickstarted a run of results that would see the newly promoted Reds go unbeaten in the league until the middle of September, while Dorchester would go on to win just four league matches in the first half of the 2025/26 season.

Form Guide

Magpies - DWLWL

Dorchester last played a competitive match in late December, losing 2-1 to local rivals Weymouth - a result which saw the club drop to 21st in the league standings. The Magpies' previous league win came at the start of December versus Hungerford Town.

Reds - LLLDL

Uxbridge are winless in the league since the middle of November, losing seven of their last nine matches. Last weekend, the Reds narrowly lost 1-0 at home to Chertsey Town.

Team News

Wayne Robinson and Will Spetch are both available to be selected, after their respective suspensions expired. Marcus Daws is not expected to feature due to injury, while Wes Fogden remains Dorchester's only long-term absentee.
