Dorchester Town Football Club can confirm that Olaf Koszela has taken the opportunity to move to National League South club Chippenham Town for an undisclosed fee. (Subject to FA clearance)
After initially joining on loan from Torquay United before signing permanently, Olaf became both a fan favourite and a key player in maintaining our Southern League Premier South status, before becoming the first Magpies player to pass the 20 goals in a season mark since Matt Groves in the 2004/05 season.
Having scored 12 goals in 42 appearances on loan, Olaf joined the club permanently ahead of the 2023/24 season. He found the net eight times in that campaign before scoring 28 goals last term as we finished fifth and made the playoffs.
Olaf leaves the club with all of our best wishes and we hope he can continue the club's excellent record of players going on to play at a higher level.
Reflecting on his time at Dorchester, Olaf had this message for those at the club: "Magpies, after three seasons at the club I've decided to move on and take an opportunity to play at a higher level.
"I would like to thank everyone associated with the club, from the gaffer to the coaching staff and my teammates I've shared the pitch with for these last seasons. It's been a pleasure.
"To the incredible fans that stuck by us through the ups and downs, I'm grateful for the love and support you have always shown me on and off the pitch. That will stay with me always.
"I wish the club nothing but success for the future.
"Thank you, Olaf Koszela."
Dorchester manager Tommy Killick, although sad to lose a player of such quality, had nothing but praise for the departing striker.
He said: "Olaf is an amazing person who was loved by everyone at the club.
"When he signed his contract, we promised him we would not stand in his way if he got the chance to play at a higher level and so when he made it clear he wanted to take the opportunity that had arisen, with a very heavy heart, we had to let him go.
"He deserves to be successful and he goes with our thanks for everything he has done for the club.
"We will all miss him greatly but hope he goes on to have a really successful future, which is what he deserves."
Thanks and all the best, Olaf!
