Post-match reaction from first team coach Jason Brookes speaking after our 0-4 away win at Bishops Cleeve last night:
“Absolutely fantastic result tonight. Delighted to be coming away with three points, which is the reaction we needed from the weekend's disappointment.
“I think there were so many factors that came with that game that I was really pleased about. There were some real standout performances - I felt Ryan Hall in goal was excellent, he made some very good stops, Ollie Haste and Will Spetch at the back again were tremendous tonight, and both of them popped up on the score sheet which is always nice showing we can score goals from all areas of our team, and just as a whole as a group I felt it's probably the best I've seen us defend as a group together.
“The lads work tirelessly and it's not easy place to go to, because they're right up there in amongst the play-off spots, but you know we've kept a clean sheet tonight and scored four goals and we probably could have added a few more, so that's really pleasing too.
“As you say it's back to winning ways, and that reaction from a very disappointing week last week, there's no getting away from it - conceding the late goal at Tiverton and then obviously the disappointment at home against Portland. Everybody was desperate to try and get back out there, and put things right, because we have had a good run of wins and then it was a very disappointing week to follow.
“We do need to know as a group that there is going to be low periods in the season, but if we can react the way that we did after the opening day and put little runs together and keep striving to put those points on the board, I think we'll be in a good place, and we're certainly having a lot of trust in the players that we've got here that they want to push us in the right direction, and their reaction tonight was brilliant.”
