Ahead of kick off against Chertsey Town at The Avenue on Saturday 8 November, there will be a short ceremony and a minutes silence to remember our fallen servicemen and women.
We ask all supporters to please join us in the stadium in the main stand or on the terraces a little earlier than usual ahead of kick off.
Please note that The Magpies Suite and tea bars will stop serving at 2:50pm until the end of the service.
Order of events:
· Players to come out at 2:50pm, line up as normal, handshakes and then stand around the centre circle. Captains to lay wreaths on the centre spot
· Allen Knott (Club Chaplain) will say the words: “They shall grow not old...”
· The Last Post will be played over the PA system
· One minute’s silence will immediately follow the Last Post being played
· Referee will blow his whistle to mark the end of the minutes silence
· Game will commence
Free entry for service personnel
We're also pleased to confirm that we will be offering free entry to the Chertsey Town match this Saturday for all current serving personnel from the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force simply by just showing your current forces ID card at the turnstiles.
