The club can announce the departure of assistant-manager Glenn Howes.
Glenn's association with the Magpies began as a player during the 2005-06 season, where his all action, fully -committed displays in central midfield quickly endeared himself to the Avenue Faithful.
Howes would later return to The Avenue Stadium as manager in October 2021, where he and his coaching team oversaw a huge cultural change in the club, reviving our fortunes from perennial relegation strugglers to a club pushing to return to the National League South.
In a move that reflected his selflessness, humility and unwavering desire to win, Howes invited Tommy Killick to return to the club as manager, with Howes continuing to coach as Killick's number two, where they led the team in to last season's play-offs.
Scott Symes, Director of Football said: “Glenn has been such an integral part of our club's journey over the past few years. We have an awful lot to thank Glenn for and whilst we are sad to see him leave, we wish him nothing but the very best of success.”
Glenn Howes said: "It is without doubt one of the hardest decisions my family and I have had to make, so it is with great sadness I have to announce my departure.
We’ve shared many fantastic moments during my time and it fills us with a huge sense of pride to see where the club is now (on and off the field) in comparison to where it was when we arrived.
There are too many people to name and thank personally, but I look forward to bringing the family down to the Avenue soon and showing our appreciation to such a warm and friendly club.
I would however like to publicly thank the Management Team (The Gaffer, Churchy, Woodsy and Dodge), it’s been an absolute pleasure knowing and working with you and I will miss our many debates and discussions. To Scott, Shaun and the rest of the board, you provided me with unbelievable support and belief that has allowed us all to flourish and grow the team on the pitch which I’ll be forever grateful for.
Thank you to every single player that has pulled on the 'Black & White' and given everything for the cause - we’ve shared some great moments on match days, in training, on the coach, in the bar and in the dressing room. Lastly to you the supporters and all the volunteers, I can’t thank you enough for how welcoming and supportive you have been to me and my family. I know culture is a strong word, but what a warm and fantastic environment you have created.
We would like to wish Dorchester Town FC every success in the future and I have no doubt you will continue to grow.
All the very best Glenn, Louise, Ellis, Lucas and Evelyn. UTM!"
The club will announce changes to the backroom staff shortly.
