Dorchester Town Football Club are delighted to announce that Ieuan Turner and Jamie Hosking have been promoted to the first team squad ahead of the new season.
The highly-rated duo have both this week signed to feature as part of Glenn Howes’ senior squad on dual registration deals, combining playing for National League side Eastleigh's Elite Development Squad, ahead of the new 2023/24 campaign which kicks off tomorrow.
Having both played key roles in our treble winning U23 and U18 sides last season, both Ieuan and Jamie have been part of the first team setup over pre-season.
Central defender Ieuan, who captained the U18 side as well as impressing in the heart of the U23s defence, also made his first team debut last season in the Dorset Senior Cup, whilst midfielder Jamie, who bagged a superb first half hat-trick in the U18 League Cup final back in May, has featured in a number of our friendlies at The Avenue over recent weeks.
First team coach and U23 manager Brian Churchill said: “It really reinforces that development pathway from the U18s to U23s to the first team, and it’s really good to keep hold of both Ieuan and Jamie."
"A number of lads from last season’s U23 squad have moved up the football pyramid playing for clubs in the Southern League Division One and the Wessex League Premier, so it will be nice to keep two of our own around the first team squad and follow Lewis Toms in making the move up to the first team.”
“Both Ieuan and Jamie are young in years but mature in their football age, so we won’t have any hesitation in putting them into the team and giving them experience of Southern League football.”
